Although iOS 26 has since been presented, Apple is not yet done with the current software cycle, because iOS 18.6 beta 1 is now available.
iOS 18.6 Beta 1 is now out
Since the presentation of iOS 26 during the WWDC on Monday 9 June, all news items are only about Liquid Glassthe new design of the operating system and all the new functions in it. In the meantime, a new beta of iOS 18.6 has also been published, but also from macOS 15.6, Visionos 2.6, TVOS 18.6 and more.

No real innovations
These new updates are not expected to introduce many new functions. However, they do offer a number of bug fixes and performance improvements, and make the Apple software a bit more stable. Apple usually delivers the most reliable, bug -free updates in the last stage of the development of a software version. It is not that far yet.
If you already want to install these new betas, know that iOS 18.6, TVOS 18.6, Watchos 11.6, etc. will hopefully be very stable on the day of the launch, but at the moment, in their Bèta 1-state, probably not yet. For most people it is therefore a better idea to wait for the final version and not to install beta versions (which you cannot accidentally do).
iOS 26 appears in September.
Apple has already presented iOS 26 in a keynote on Monday 9 June, but it will take a while before you can install that iOS version. The final version for the general public will probably only appear in September.
Apple often releases new software versions on Monday or Tuesday. If we look very far ahead, the official release of iOS 26 may stand out Monday, September 15 or Tuesday September 16. Of course we will hold you iPhoned aware of all developments around iOS 26.
