The next version of the Apple Vision Pro is going to be a lot better. But what will change? And more importantly: when will the Apple Vision Pro 2 be released?
Apple Vision Pro 2: this is going to change
In his most recent newsletter, Mark Gurman said that the Apple Vision Pro 2 will be released by the end of 2025 or sometime in the first quarter of 2026. A cheaper version of the Vision Pro was initially planned quite quickly, but Apple has now deviated from that
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has shelved the cheap Vision Pro and will first focus on the Apple Vision Pro 2. But what upgrades does Apple have in store for the Vision Pro 2?
New chip: faster than ever
Apple plans to replace the M2 chip in the current Apple Vision Pro with an M5. Around this period, the first Macs will receive this chip.
The M5 chip is of course a lot faster than the M2 version. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly how much yet. But if you keep the recently released M4 chip in mind (which can be found in the MacBook Pro 2024, among others), it will be a huge upgrade.
Appearance remains virtually the same
According to Bloomberg, the appearance of the Apple Vision Pro 2 will not change much. The news site says that Apple has several ideas for the appearance, but that there will at least be a variant that will resemble the current version. All changes are mainly under the hood.
Apple Vision Pro in the Netherlands
Then of course the question remains whether we will get the Apple Vision Pro 2 in the Netherlands. At the moment, the first Apple Vision Pro is still not for sale here. You can import one from Germany, but keep in mind that you must have a German Apple account. In any case, we hope that the Apple Vision Pro 2 will receive a simultaneous release throughout Europe.
