Apple will present these products in October

Apple usually holds three or four annually events to announce new products. There is often a spring event in March or April (or May) and the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Then there’s an event in September that focuses on the iPhone and Apple Watch, and sometimes another event in October that usually revolves around Macs and iPads.

This year, we expect Apple to hold a second fall event sometime in October. The event will likely focus on new M4 Macs, although it’s certainly not inconceivable that we’ll see some new iPad models as well. We list all our expectations.

iMac

The 24-inch iMac will be updated with the next-generation M4 chip in late 2024. We expect the M4 to deliver better performance to support AI tasks and Apple is rumored to add an updated Neural Engine with more cores for the same reason.

MacBook Pro

The MacBook Pro is also one of the products presented in October. Apple will also renew the MacBook Pro series with the M4 chips at the end of 2024. The 14-inch entry-level model of the MacBook Pro will then receive the M4 chip, the 14-inch and 16-inch models will be refreshed with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.

Mac mini

The Mac mini will also be updated at the end of 2024 and is rumored to have a new design with a much smaller form factor. Apple currently sells a standard M2 version and an M2 Pro version. We expect this to remain the case with the M4 line.

iPad mini 7

The next iPad mini won’t get a new design, but it could get an improved A-series chip and new cameras on the front and back. Apple could opt for an A16 chip, but to support Apple Intelligence at least the A17 Pro is needed.

Cheap iPad

Apple is also working on an 11th generation iPad, with a faster chip and support for Wi-Fi 6E. There is a chance that it will appear in 2024, but that is not yet entirely certain.
