Extend Wi-Fi 7 coverage
Long-range Wi-Fi is high on the agenda for AVM at this year’s IFA. With the FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7 and FRITZ!Repeater 1200 W7, the company is launching new mesh Wi-Fi repeaters that support Wi-Fi 7 for the first time. Every home has different requirements in terms of range – whether it’s multiple floors, thick walls or rooms with lots of nooks and crannies. That’s exactly why AVM is expanding its mesh Wi-Fi offering with the new FRITZ!Mesh Set 3000 Wi-Fi 6 and the FRITZ!Mesh Set 1200 Wi-Fi 6. Both can be easily connected to a FRITZ!Box or a router from another manufacturer to expand your Wi-Fi.

FRITZ!OS 8 is coming
IFA visitors will also get a taste of FRITZ!OS 8, which includes more than 60 new features and improvements for all current FRITZ! The upcoming update will bring users more convenience and a better overview of their digital home. Setting up a FRITZ!Box has been simplified and the user interface has been revised. For example, the start page now shows the connection status. The mesh overview also makes it easier to assign individual devices by name and icon. In the guest network, registered devices can also be better assigned by name. This is especially useful for users who use the guest network for smart homes and can now recognize the many devices even better.
Also new is the practical online monitor, which provides information about the load on the internet connection by the individual devices. IPv6 data can now also be transmitted via WireGuard, the easy way to establish a VPN connection via a QR code. This gives even more users the opportunity to transmit sensitive data securely via VPN. The upcoming update may not be available for some FRITZ!Box models.

5G speed for home
Users can browse and stream at lightning speed at home via 5G mobile networks, namely thanks to the new FRITZ!Box 6860 5G for indoors and outdoors. The wireless device supports both 5G (NSA, SA) and LTE and achieves data rates of up to 1.3 gigabits/s. Equipped with strong mesh Wi-Fi according to the Wi-Fi 6 standard, it can also distribute data wirelessly throughout the home. It also has a DECT base station for telephony and smart home applications.

More fiber for fast wifi
Finally, AVM is expanding its fiber optic portfolio and introducing new models:
– the FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS for fast connections with 10 Gbit/s;
– the FRITZ!Box 5690, which delivers lightning-fast performance for GPON and AON;
– the flexible FRITZ!Box 4690 wireless router.
Together with the top model FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro, users have a wide range of options for fast browsing via fiber optics. All models support the new Wi-Fi 7 generation and the high level of functions for network applications at home and at home working that FRITZ!Box is known for. Availability of the products may vary by country. Information about which products will be launched in the Netherlands will follow later.

FRITZ!DECT becomes FRITZ!Smart
AVM is also launching something new in the Smart Home area, namely a new current sensor, FRITZ!Smart Energy 250, which allows users to monitor and optimize their energy consumption. The current name for the products, FRITZ!DECT, will become FRITZ!Smart in the future. The well-known smart products for energy, heating, lighting and monitoring will get new names, but apart from that everything will remain typically FRITZ!: advanced technology, user-friendly products and free updates. All FRITZ!Smart products and a showcase for the Matter standard can be seen in the Smart Home area of the stand. AVM will also be showing the more than sixty new functions and improvements in FRITZ!OS 8. The upcoming update for all current products is more user-friendly, offers a clear overview and ensures stable and secure use.
