At the EICMA in Milan, Honda unveiled the EM1 e:, the first electrically powered two-wheeler for the European market equipped with the interchangeable battery developed in consultation with several manufacturers. After Kawasaki, Honda is the second Japanese manufacturer to commit to electric two-wheelers. At the EICMA in Milan, Honda announced that it will introduce 10 or more electric motorcycles worldwide by 2025.
The introduction of electric motorcycles is an important first step for Honda to achieve its stated goals of carbon neutrality for the entire Honda motorcycle line-up by the 2040s.
The ‘EM’ stands for Electric Moped and the model is fully aimed at a young target group that is looking for easy and fun urban transport. It is compact, has a flat floor and smooth styling that emphasizes its difference and unique identity within the Honda range.
The EM1 e: should be perfect for short trips in the city and to make commuting to work or college efficient, quiet and emission-free, according to Honda. The EM1 e: according to Honda fits into the modern vision for urban mobility.
The EM1 e: is powered by the Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, built with a relentless focus on durability, reliability and quality. A single charge provides a range of more than 40 km.
The Mobile Power Pack (MPP) is designed to withstand various temperatures, humidity levels, shock and vibration. As the name suggests, the MPP is a removable battery that can be easily removed from the EM1 e: for charging at home.
