Last year Apple removed the iMac Pro from its range, but this year we can expect another powerful desktop computer from Apple. According to a reliable analyst, a newly designed iMac Pro 2022 is on the way.
iMac Pro 2022
In April 2021, the 24-inch iMac appeared, which Apple gave a completely new look. However, a successor for the larger 27-inch iMac was not forthcoming. Meanwhile, the more powerful iMac Pro disappeared from the shelves of the Apple Store.
But this year, Apple is back with a bigger and more powerful iMac, reports reliable analyst Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter. It is being marketed as the new iMac Pro.
Gurman expects the new iMac Pro to have a similar design to the current 24-inch iMac. This means that the machine becomes a lot thinner, flatter and more angular, with a relatively large ‘chin’ below the screen with no Apple logo.
Screen and processor
The new iMac Pro will also be larger than 24 inches, but Gurman does not mention a screen size. Earlier there were rumors that the iMac Pro 2022 will be equipped with a 27-inch display. This makes the difference between the smaller and larger iMac relatively small.
Furthermore, according to Gurman, the iMac Pro 2022 can be configured with powerful chips: the M1 Pro or M1 Max. These processors can already be found in the MacBook Pro 2021. However, we do not rule out the possibility that the chip of the iMac Pro is even more powerful than its mobile brothers. A desktop Mac does not have to take battery life into account and there is more room for cooling, so Apple can put more performance in it.
