In iOS 18, this irritation has finally been resolved on the iPhone (and about time)

Another irritation has been resolved in iOS 18. It is now possible to remove the flashlight from the home screen on your iPhone. This is how you do it.

It’s probably happened to you: you take your iPhone out of your pocket and suddenly you see that the flashlight is turned on. You probably unconsciously tapped the flashlight icon on the home screen when you put your iPhone in your pocket. Annoying, because if the light has been on for a while, you will also lose quite a bit of your battery charge.

In iOS 18, this irritation has finally been resolved on the iPhone (and about time)

After all these years, Apple has finally resolved this irritation on the iPhone. In iOS 18 it is possible to remove the flashlight icon from the home screen. You can remove the flashlight as follows:

  1. Press and hold the finger on your iPhone’s home screen;

  2. Choose ‘Customize’ and tap ‘Access screen’;

  3. You can now customize the icons and widgets. Tap the minus sign near the flashlight;

  4. Then tap ‘Done’;

More new features in iOS 18

In addition to removing the flashlight on the home screen, Apple is introducing a series of new ones in iOS 18 Apple Intelligencefeatures to the iPhone. Yet this is not all, because much more changes in the latest iOS version. These are some of the changes:

  • photosapp gets a new design;
  • Of Genmoji you can create infinite emojis yourself;
  • To inform gets new features;
  • More freedom with it Control panel and home screen;
  • Siri gets a major update;
  • Apple Maps gets topographical maps and custom routes, that you can determine yourself;
  • New accessibility features as eye tracking;
  • Keynote and Pages be expanded with Apple Intelligence;
  • Assignments can now automate complex tasks more easily;
  • Spotlight works better in iOS 18;
  • Passwords app for storing and automatically filling in passwords;
  • Wallet is expanded with tap to cash;
  • Dictaphone now supports audio transcriptions, including during phone calls.
