You can post several short videos at the same time. Once you’re done filming and editing, the idea is to provide the video(s) with clear and bright hashtags, choose a good title and grab an inviting thumbnail. This is the image other Instagram users will see when they see your video in the Instagram feed.

Once you’re done, you can share Reels with your followers on Instagram. The video may also end up in the Discover tab of the app, allowing people who don’t follow you to see it. Instagram will notify you when your video ends up in Explore.

So, all in all, Instagram Reels is quite similar to TikTok, with one important difference. The newcomer can piggyback on the popularity of Instagram, while TikTok is a standalone app. You also don’t have to download a separate app to use Reels, because you can simply create, edit and share the short videos via the camera in Instagram.

Striking timing

There has been a lot going on around TikTok lately. Microsoft is said to be interested in the American branch of the fast-growing social media platform, which kicks Donald Trump’s sore leg. The American president wants to put a stop to the purchase and is even considering banning TikTok completely.
