Apple has released the second iPados and iOS 18.5 Developer Beta. We tell you what improvements are in iOS 18.5 beta 2.
iOS 18.5 Beta 2 is out
iOS 18.5 is not expected to contain any major new functions. That is because the development of iOS 19 is in full swing and in the meantime Apple has already released almost all the promised functions for iOS 18. Last year Apple IOS released 17.5 on 13 May, probably iOS 18.5 this year will be around the same date.
Last year’s iOS 17.5 software update did contain a few surprises with, among other things, cross-platform tracking detection for airtag-like products. That is unfortunately not the case with iOS 18.5 Bèta 2.
iOS 19 will be presented on June 9
The latest iOS version is presented every year during the WWDC. Apple has already announced that the WWDC this year June 9 to June 13 will take place. During the presentation on Monday 9 June it becomes clear what changes are coming to iOS 19 and the other OS versions.
The rest of the week is all about online workshops and lectures for developers. They can be the first to get started with all new functions. On the opening day of the WWDC, the first test versions of all operating systems are immediately rolled out for developers.
You can expect this from iOS 19
According to rumors, Apple is making enormous changes and iOS 19 becomes the largest iPhone update in years. We see these adjustments mainly in the design, because Apple is working on a new interface for the operating system. In the new design, many Visionos elements are expected, the operating system developed especially for the Apple Vision Pro.
Characteristic parts of Visionos are mainly the transparent frameworks with rounded corners. These frameworks seem of glass and come according to rumors to iOS 19. In addition, the new design of the operating system gets much more depth. It is still unclear whether the round icons of the apps also come to iOS 19. Apple adapted the design of iOS for the last time in 2013, when iOS 7 appeared.
