The iPhone 16 has only just been released, but Apple is already busy working on the next iPhone. It won’t be long before the iPhone SE 4 appears, as the phone is expected in the spring of 2025. This means that Apple will soon start mass production of the iPhone SE 4. New rumors seem to confirm this, with LG Innotek soon starting mass production of the camera parts.
According to Ajunews The planned start of mass production for the iPhone SE 4 is in December. That says a lot about the planned release date, because it often comes not long after production has been scaled up. LG Innotech typically manufactures camera parts three months before the release of a new phone. There is therefore a good chance that Apple will release the iPhone SE 4 in March 2025.
Major update for the iPhone SE
Mass production of the iPhone SE 4 is about to begin, and other manufacturers will probably also start producing parts soon. Major changes are expected with the new generation of the iPhone SE. Apple is finally saying goodbye to the home button on the device, instead the device will have the same design as the iPhone 14.
This means that the new iPhone SE is secured with Face ID and has a larger 6.1-inch OLED screen. The iPhone SE 4 will also receive a major update under the hood, because the device reportedly runs on the A18 chip. We now see the same processor in the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus. With this chip, the iPhone SE 4 has support for Apple Intelligence. To run these AI functions smoothly, the iPhone SE is equipped with 8 GB of RAM.
Release in March 2025
Other changes expected with the iPhone SE 4 include a 48-megapixel camera and possibly the action button. These are features we previously saw on the iPhone 15, making the iPhone SE a pretty advanced device. We will probably also see this reflected in the price, according to rumors Apple plans to increase the starting price of the phone. The iPhone SE 3 is currently available for €529 from Apple itself, but is available from other providers for €348.
The fact that LG Innotech will start mass production in December indicates that the iPhone SE 4 will most likely be released in March 2025.
