Two million Dutch people suffer from migraines. A migraine attack can feel endless and just the thought of it gives people a headache. The Migraine Buddy app helps you to fight against this banging headache.
Headache app: that’s how Migraine Buddy helps you
Migraine is not just any type of headache, but a brain disorder. Headache attacks can then be accompanied by nausea, loss of body parts and hypersensitivity to light and / or sound.
Migraine cannot be cured, but the symptoms can be treated. Medicines do not work for everyone and, moreover, not everyone who has migraines takes them to the doctor. Fortunately, there is Migraine Buddy. The app is a ‘tracking diary’ for headaches and is intended to guide people and provide insight into their migraine attacks. The app was designed by neurologists and data scientists.
Smart diary
If you get a headache attack or have you just had it, you can indicate in the app where you have pain, what the frequency is, how long the attack lasts and how intense the pain is. Factors such as your location, lifestyle and medicines are also taken into account. This way, the best possible picture can be sketched about your migraine.
The moment you enter an attack, you will also be asked for ‘triggers’. Certain foods, alcohol, weather conditions, sleep and menstruation are examples of such triggers. The app teaches you to recognize triggers, so that you can adjust your lifestyle accordingly.
Another important aspect of the app is the intelligent sleep diary. Discover the link between your sleeping behavior and migraines through a sleep chart. For this, the app works together with the Health app from Apple itself. Old sleep data is also imported. This way you can also add older migraine attacks afterwards, without them not being able to be fully analyzed.
After an attack, Migraine Buddy provides a clear summary to the user and offers an action plan. To avoid certain foods, or to pay more attention to your sleep, for example. As soon as you register multiple attacks in the app, you automatically build up your own report. For example, the app can advise you to discuss such a report with your doctor.
User-friendly at any time
Migraine Buddy is available in different languages and can therefore also be set to Dutch. You decide what you want to achieve with the app. Better communication with your doctor, discovering triggers and getting a better understanding or even gathering evidence to show to your insurance company or employer.
You can also set whether loved ones or fellow sufferers receive a notification when you indicate in the app that you have an attack. This can especially be a helping hand for migraine sufferers who suffer from it on a regular basis.
Another big advantage is the layout of the app. Migraine Buddy uses dark, calm colors and many icons. This makes it a very user-friendly tool, even if you are not feeling well.
