Apple plans to release a new iPad Air, iPad Pro and MacBook Air soon. And they’re coming faster than you think.
New iPad Air, iPad Pro and MacBook Air on the way
It is of course no surprise that there will be a number of new iPads and a MacBook. But when exactly they come, that is usually. According to usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, we don’t have to wait much longer and a new iPad Air, iPad Pro and MacBook Air will arrive in March or April. Below you can read briefly what exactly you can expect from these new Apple devices.
iPad Air 2024
The next iPad Air will be available in two sizes: 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch. According to rumors, the next iPad Air will have an M2 chip for a speed boost and a new design for the camera on the back. There will also be support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. No major changes to the appearance are expected. The previous iPad Air was released in 2022 and had an M1 chip.

iPad Pro 2024
The next 11-inch and 13-inch iPad will probably have an OLED screen. This ensures that the screen of the new iPad Pro can become a lot brighter. In addition, the display has better contrast compared to the LCD screen of the current iPad Pro. Apple already uses OLED displays in recent iPhones and Apple Watches (with the exception of the iPhone SE).
One of the improvements expected is a better ProMotion screen. The ProMotion screen of the current iPad Pro has a refresh rate between 24Hz and 120Hz. An OLED screen makes it possible for the refresh rate to be lowered a bit, towards 10Hz.
This means you can use a battery charge on the iPad Pro for a little longer. By the way, the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) and iPhone 15 Pro (Max) also have ProMotion that can even go to 1Hz. The switch to OLED does have a disadvantage: the prices of the iPad Pro will probably increase considerably.
The other improvements expected with the iPad Pro are an M3 chip, MagSafe wireless charging and a new Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad and an aluminum casing. Just like with the new iPad Air, it is also possible that the camera on the back will receive a minor redesign. By the way, the current iPad Pro with M2 chip was released in October 2022.
MacBook Air 2024
Gurman also said that Apple plans to release multiple MacBooks Air with an M3 chip around the spring. You can probably also count on the 13-inch and 15-inch models to be released at the same time this year.
With the M3 chip, the MacBook Air 2024 receives hardware support for, among other things, ray tracing. This ensures, for example, better reflections and nicer shadow and light effects in games. No further changes to the design are expected. The Air will probably get WiFi 6E, just like all other Macs. The latest 13-inch MacBook Air was released in July 2022 and the 15-inch MacBook Air 2023 was released in June 2023.
