The year has only just begun and the first rumors are already trickling in. According to various reports, the iPhone 15 (Plus) will have a 48 MP camera, just like the iPhone 14 Pro (Max).
iPhone 15 (Plus) gets 48 MP camera
The iPhone 14 Pro (Max) had some cool innovations, but perhaps the most interesting is the 48 MP camera (instead of ‘only’ 12 MP). This gives you four times as many pixels for your photos. You can capture a lot more detail in your photos with this.
Now rumors have surfaced that this 48 MP camera is also coming to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. So you will soon be able to take these types of photos on the non-Pro models of the iPhone 15. Unfortunately, the telephoto lens (to zoom in) remains exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro (Max).
More interesting changes to come
In addition, the expectations are that the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus will have a USB-C connection (instead of a lightning port). There will also be some changes under the hood. The iPhone 15 (Plus) will receive the A16 chip, which you will currently only find in the iPhone 14 Pro (Max).
Even better camera for the iPhone 15 Pro (Max)
So what is left for the iPhone 15 Pro (Max)? According to rumors, the high-end devices of the iPhone 15 will get a periscope lens for the first time. This allows you to zoom in further (optically!) than ever on an iPhone.
According to the usually reliable Ming-Chi Kuo, you can zoom in up to 6 times with this lens. In addition, the iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to receive the A17 chip, 8GB of RAM, USB-C and a titanium housing. There are also rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be renamed to the iPhone 15 Ultra.
