Stellantis presents official logo

In a little while longer, Groupe PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will merge. This joyous event is already being celebrated by presenting the official logo of the new group, Stellantis.

2021 will be a hugely important year for Fiat Chrysler and Groupe PSA, when their merger will finally be a fact. Earlier this year it was announced that the newly formed car group will operate under the name Stellantis. Then, it turns out, a temporary logo was also added. The final logo was revealed today. We already knew the font, but now it is clear that they stand out in white against a blue background and that there are dots around the ‘a’ that must undoubtedly represent part of a starry sky. The name Stellantis, according to its Latin origin, means something like ‘illuminated by the stars’.

In the coming year, FCA and PSA will officially continue together under the new name and under the jointly formed board. They say they are almost ready for the much-discussed merger: “The unveiling of the logo is the final step towards the completion of the merger project, which is expected to take place by the end of the first quarter of 2021,” both report groups still operating separately from each other. With the formation of Stellantis, which will receive 14 car brands, it becomes the fourth largest car group in the world in one fell swoop. Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Fiat and Alfa Romeo will then fall under the same parent company.
