The feature is officially called ‘Theatre Mode’. This setting ensures that your Apple Watch does not light up or vibrate when you lift your arm. This also prevents your Apple Watch from disturbing the people around you during an exciting movie. Below you can read how to enable this function.

To turn the function off again, follow the same steps. So don’t forget to go back into the settings of your Apple Watch when translating the cinema.

If you have the function on, you cannot see what time it is by lifting your arm. To check the time in the cinema, you can turn the crown to make the screen of your Apple Watch light up slightly.

This way you can still see how long the film will last (or check an important message) without disturbing the rest of the visitors. Please note: when you tap the screen, your Apple Watch will show the time at full brightness.
