Apple will release iOS 18.5 next week and that means that a number of new functions are coming to your iPhone. You can expect this.
These functions brings iOS 18.5 to your iPhone
The official version of iOS 18.5 will be published next week, we suspect on Monday or Tuesday. Unfortunately, there are not many new features in this update, but there are 5 that we find worth mentioning. We list them for you.
1. Improvements for the mail app
Last December, iOS 18.2 brought major changes to Apples Mail app. In iOS 18.5 there will be two improvements:
- The previously hidden ‘all e-mail’ display is now visible.
- You can now easily switch photos of contact persons on or off.
The first change makes it easier to switch between categories and the display ‘All e-mail’. Furthermore, you can now tap the three dots in the top right corner to show or hide the photos of contact persons. This was already possible from the Settings app, but now it is possible in the app itself.

2. New pride background
It is not often that Apple adds new system backgrounds to iOS, but in recent years it has happened on certain annual occasions, such as Pride. In iOS 18.5, the built-in backgrounds of your iPhone contain a new pride addition. It is a colorful new option that you can see below.

3. Screen time notifications
Screen time is intended to handle your iPhone, iPad and Mac healthier. One aspect of screen time is parental supervision, and that gets a nice update in iOS 18.5. If from now on a screen password is entered on your child’s device, you as a parent will receive a notification. This ensures that your child does not bypass the screen time limits without you knowing it.

4. Buy content more easily in the Apple TV app
In iOS 18.5, an iPhone function that previously worked alone with TVOS now also expanded to TVs and streaming devices from third parties. With ‘Buy with iPhone’ (Buy with iPhone) you can buy content in the Apple TV app by authenticating it on your iPhone. So if you want to subscribe to a new service, or want to buy or rent a movie, it is easier in iOS 18.5 than ever when you use third-party TV devices.

5. Satellite features on the iPhone 13
If you wanted to use satellite functions in iOS, you always needed an iPhone 14 or newer. This changes with iOS 18.5, with which you can use satellite functions from providers on an iPhone 13, 13 PRO or 13 Pro Max.
iOS 18.5 will come to your iPhone next week
As mentioned, we expect the official version of iOS 18.5 next Monday or Tuesday. Loves iPhoned In mind because if the update is available, you can read it here immediately!
