Automix uses artificial intelligence for analyzing music. The pace and rhythm of the songs are used to determine when the next song will start. For example, the transition between two songs is much more flexible in Apple Music. The first users have now tried automix and even talk about the most important improvement of Apple Music.

Spotify does not (yet) have a similar function, but you can already let numbers go over. Apple Music is now going one step further and ensures a major improvement in number transitions. Crossfade remains available at Apple Music in iOS 26. You can soon choose which transition you like.
