The appearance of the iPhone 17 Pro (Max) is still very new, but Apple is already planning to adapt it to the iPhone 18 Pro (Max).
This changes the appearance of the iPhone 18 Pro (Max)
The iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max are only about two months old. And although it is usual for a new design at Apple to last a few generations, it already looks like the appearance of the iPhone 18 Pro (Max) is already being adjusted immediately.
On existing iPhone 17 Pro models, Apple has a glass cutout on the back. This is necessary to enable charging via MagSafe. There is therefore also a color difference between the aluminum frame and the recess. The iPhone 17 Pro models therefore have a two-tone appearance.
No more color difference
That is exactly what will change with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. At least, according to the well-known Weibo leaker Instant Digital. For the next generation of Pro models, Apple is said to have managed to minimize the color difference between the glass and the aluminum frame. This results in a more uniform appearance.
This rumor fits in well with another rumor, from the equally well-known tasty Digital Chat Station. According to that rumor, Ceramic Shield will have a slightly transparent design. Otherwise, the iPhone 18 Pro models would have a similar design to the iPhone 17 Pro models.
Instant Digital has previously leaked accurate information about Apple, such as the yellow finish for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, and the titanium band for the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
iPhone 18 Pro (Max) will arrive in September 2026
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will likely get A20 Pro chips, manufactured using the latest 2nm process, and Apple’s C2 modem (instead of a Qualcomm modem).
