The Apple Watch gets a new feature that you will probably use every day! This function in Watchos is involved.
New features for the Apple Watch
New features are coming for the Apple Watch! Apple has announced Watchos 26, which gives the smartwatch many new functions. With the update, the new workout buddy comes to the Apple Watch, you can better register strength training sessions and the smartwatch is expanded with a new wrist gesture. Now it appears that another new feature is coming to the Apple Watch, which has surfaced in the software of iOS 26.
Codes were found in this software that indicate a new feature for sleeping registration with the Apple Watch. You can use the smartwatch for some time to keep track of your sleep, by wearing the Apple Watch even at night. For this, Apple may introduce a handy position in Watchos 26, because the company is working on a sleep score for the smartwatch. That score was discovered in the software behind iOS 26 and probably comes to the Apple Watch later.

Sleeping score
The new function is currently called ‘Watch Focus Score’ by Apple itself. The number of this score is placed in a circle, which consists of the three colors of the different sleeping stages on the Apple Watch. You can already find information about your night’s sleep in the smartwatch. The Apple Watch makes a distinction between three stages, where you are awake (orange color), in your REM sleep (light blue color) or are in deep sleep (dark blue color).
With these colors you can already see what the quality of the night’s sleep was according to the Apple Watch. To make that easier, the Apple Watch gets a handy feature in the form of a sleep score. This score calculates how good (or bad) your night’s sleep was based on sleep data. The higher the number, the better and deeper you have slept. This way you can see all the information about your recent night’s rest every day at a glance.

Release of Watchos 26
The sleep score would mean a handy addition to the Apple Watch, certainly because other smartwatches have had a similar feature for (much) longer. It is still unknown when the function comes to the Apple Watch. Apple has not yet announced the sleep score itself and the new institution is not available in the first test versions of Watchos 26. We will probably have to wait a while for the new sleep function.
Apple releases Watchos 26 in September, that month many new functions will come to your Apple Watch. Yet Apple does not yet roll out all the features, because it regularly happens that more improvements are made with a later Watchos update. That seems to be the case with the sleep score, which means that the new feature pass with Watchos 26.1 or later to your Apple Watch. Do you want to know if your smartwatch can update to Watchos 26?
