This way you can easily remove objects from photos

You know it: you have made a beautiful photo, but in the background you see some small things that irritate you. Think of a curious tourist in your photo or a full trash can obstructing your view. You prefer to remove these things from your photo, but if you are not familiar with photo editing programs, that can be quite a challenge. Fortunately, no extensive knowledge of Photoshop is required to remove objects from photos. And you don’t have to buy an expensive program for it either.

In fact, you don’t need a separate tool at all to edit your photos. With cleanup.pictures you can get started right in your browser.

That is how it works

Surf to the cleanup.pictures website and upload a photo you want to edit by finding it on your PC or dragging it to the appropriate box on the website. Run the brush over the object you want out of the picture and a few seconds later cleanup.pictures has literally cleaned up the picture. You can still adjust the size of the brush, allowing you to do even more specific edits.

The online tool uses machine learning to fill in the gaps that appear, so that it appears as if an object or person has never been in the photo. You see such functions more and more often on telephones. For example, Google’s new Pixel 6 has a similar photo editing tool.

Of course, the end result doesn’t come close to the extensive editing that a professional does in Photoshop (certainly not with busy photos), but the online tool works surprisingly well. In the example below, we have removed the tablet lying on the table from the photo in one movement. The results are impressive.

With the click of a button, we removed the tablet from the table.

Save photos

A small downside of the online tool is that downloading your edited photos is a bit cumbersome. It seems that you cannot directly save a photo to your PC with the yellow download button, but you must first send it to your e-mail address. But if you’re with Email a contact choose for Me you will see the photo in the attachment of the email. Right click on the photo and choose Save and you can save the photo directly to your PC, without having to email it to yourself first.
