Top 3 alternatives to Flitsmeister via CarPlay
Flitsmeister is probably the most popular app to avoid speeding fines. If you use the app via CarPlay, you need the Pro version and you pay 2.99 euros per month for it. If you don’t feel like doing that, it’s better to use an alternative app. One of the most popular alternatives to Flitsmeister is Rangebut that app does not have CarPlay support. That’s why it’s not in our top 3.
1. Waze
The popular Waze is primarily a navigation app, but you are also warned about speed cameras. Thanks to its growing community, Waze is known for providing better warnings about things you will encounter along the way. Think of traffic jams and accidents, but also of mobile speed cameras. Just like Flitsmeister, Waze warns for speed cameras and works via CarPlay. Unlike Flitsmeister, the latter is free with Waze!
2. TomTom – Maps & Navigation
This TomTom app was previously called TomTom Amigo and is now TomTom Maps & Navigation. The TomTom app provides warnings for all situations that could be dangerous. This also includes speed cameras along the road. If you follow a planned route, the warnings are the most accurate. You will receive warnings for both fixed speed cameras and mobile speed cameras. The warnings are also visible and audible. Unlike Flitsmeister, the TomTom app works for free with Apple CarPlay.
3. Radarbot: Speed camera detector
According to its makers, Radarbot combines real-time warnings with an excellent offline speed camera reporting system. Radarbot is therefore a powerful app that warns you about speed cameras, real-time traffic problems and specific speed limits. You can use Radarbot for free with Apple CarPlay, so that is a plus compared to Flitsmeister. If you want more options and the ability to navigate, you still have to pay. That will cost you €5.99 per month (or €72 per year).
There are still other options Google Maps, Apple Maps and ANWB On the road. However, for the latter you need a paid subscription if you want to be able to use all functions.
