View an overview of all apps on your iPhone or iPad

Through the App Store and alternative app marketplaces it is possible to install applications on your iPhone or iPad. After a few years you will undoubtedly have installed quite a few apps, via a handy overview you can immediately see which apps are installed on your device.

Perhaps you haven’t placed all the apps on the home screen of your device, or you don’t remember the exact folder or location. Then it is useful to be able to quickly search or have an overview of all the applications. We explain how you can quickly view the overview.

View all installed apps on iPhone or iPad

Want to know which applications are installed on your iPhone or iPad? Then you can use the app library, Settings, Spotlight or Siri. We explain how to use this.

App Library

The app library is a handy feature for both iPhone and iPad. With the help of this smart feature, it is possible to automatically sort your installed apps by category. In addition, you can also find the apps more easily thanks to an alphabetical display.

  1. Unlock your iPhone or iPad
  2. Navigate to the home screen (overview of all apps)
  3. Now swipe from right to left
  4. Keep swiping until you see the App Library
  5. Tap the search field or swipe down the overview

Immediately an overview of all installed applications on your iPhone or iPad appears in alphabetical order. These are all apps that are visible on your device. Have you hidden an app since iOS 18 or iPadOS 18? Then you can find it in the app library folder ‘Hidden’.

In the Settings app you will also find all the apps that are present on your iPhone or iPad. You cannot open them via this view, but you can find out whether the app is installed.

Open the Settings app and scroll down on the first page. At the bottom you will find a list of all installed apps. From iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 you must first tap on ‘Apps’ before the list opens.

Spotlight and Siri

Spotlight is the central search engine of iOS and iPadOS and gives you the ability to search for applications. This is especially useful if you can’t remember the exact location.

  • Unlock your iPhone or iPad
  • Go to the home screen
  • Swipe down with one finger in the middle of the screen or tap ‘Search’
  • Search for the app you want

In addition, you can also ask Siri to open a desired application. Activate the voice assistant, for example with Hey Siri, and say the voice command Open [naam app] out.
