Having your own photo in Windows makes this operating system a lot more personal. Simply select a nice image yourself.
Why an account picture?
Anyone who logs in to Windows always sees an image with her or his account. By default, this is an image of an anonymous doll. It is more fun and more personal to use your own account photo for this. That can be done easily.
Set image
How to set or change an account picture:
- Click the Start button.
- Click the icon Institutions (the gear).
- In Windows 10, click Accounts. In Windows 11, click Accounts > Your info.
- Most people log in with a Microsoft account, so that the corresponding profile picture automatically appears on the screen. When using a local Windows account, an account picture is shown. However, changing the photo is done in the same way: Click on Search image (Windows 10) or Browse files (Windows 11).
- Find a nice photo on the computer and click on the photo file.
- click on Choose image.
The new photo for the (Microsoft) account appears immediately.
