A secure password is long and complicated. Difficult to crack, but often also difficult to remember. Use the trick from this article and create secure passwords that you can remember.
When is a password good?
A password is the key to an account. And just like you like to keep your front door locked, you also want to keep cyber criminals out. That is why it is important to use passwords that cannot be guessed or cracked. So ‘12345678’ or ‘password’ is dropped.
What is a good password? Always make a combination of the following elements:
- Lowercase (az)
- capital letters (AZ)
- Digits (0-9)
- Special characters (such as: #$%&*?)
The more characters you use, the better the password.
How do you create and remember a good password?
An uncrackable password is called a strong password. So it consists of a series of random letters, numbers and special characters. The longer this sequence is, the better. But try to remember such a difficult password. Therefore, think of a schedule that you apply everywhere. This could be anything. Feel free to write this diagram down somewhere and keep it as a reminder. An example of a schedule is:
[willekeurig woord][geluksgetal][Naam website in kleine letters][Postcode][Leesteken]
The password for Gmail, SeniorWeb or DigiD respectively would then look like this:
- Mashed potatoes8gmail3500AE!
- Mashed potatoes8seniorweb3500AE!
- Mashed potatoes8digid3500AE!
In this way you create passwords that are different from each other, are strong and that you can remember. Of course, the above diagram is an arbitrary example. You can come up with all kinds of combinations that are easy to remember.
