Ikea has been making a lot of progress in the digital field in recent years.
For example, there is a lot of focus on home automation and strategic collaborations such as with Sonos, but the chain also releases useful apps. Recently, Ikea Kreativ was added to the list. With this app you can take a picture of your interior and place a potential furniture from Ikea in it. Such apps have of course been around for some time, but the new app from Ikea can remove existing objects from the photo.
You can take multiple photos of the room via the app. Then the existing furniture is removed from the room, so that you can make the assessment with a clean slate. Access to the collection of products allows you to try different furniture one-by-one in the space.
At the time of writing, the app has been released first in the United States, but will soon be available in Europe as well. Unfortunately, the app is limited to iOS for now: nothing is known about a version for Android. However, Android users can use the functionality through the browser version of Kreativ.
