Ywriter is a word processor that allows you stiltto streamline a storyline in various ways.

Word processors come in all shapes and sizes, and household names like Word and Writer aren’t the only programs you can use to get your words down on paper. For example, if you’re working on a book, such as a novel or fiction, you can also use yWriter. This program is a word processor, but it allows you to streamline your storyline in a variety of ways.
The software consists of several tabs. On each tab you can place an aspect of your story. For example, which characters appear in the story and at which locations the (partial) stories take place. You can define scenes and make various notes for this. The software also makes ‘snapshots’ of the story in between, so that you can return to a version from the past or restore specific scenes if you do want to use them later. You can also adjust the order of scenes and always see which storyline runs best with this.
The documents are exported in rtf format, which you can open and edit in all other common word processors. You can use yWriter for free.
If you want to get started quickly, you can watch videos that have been posted online by other users. In addition, the creators have posted a relatively extensive wiki online. If you want to use all components properly, reading through this is not an unnecessary luxury.
