Schedule Facebook and Instagram posts

If you use Facebook and Instagram for (semi) professional purposes, it is useful to schedule messages. In a few hours you can create all posts for the coming month and schedule them with Facebook’s own platform Studio for creators. In this article you can read how to schedule posts for both Facebook and Instagram.

01 Sign in

The central place where you can schedule posts for both Facebook and Instagram is called Studio for Creators. You can find the studio at www.tiny.cc/crestu, click on Sign up via Facebook and you arrive at the dashboard from which you can post or schedule messages.

Studio for creators

Facebook owns Instagram, so it makes sense that with Creator Studio you can schedule both Facebook and Instagram posts. There is also an app called Creator Studio, strangely enough you can only message Facebook here. In this article we therefore only use the website version.

To be able to post messages, you obviously need a Facebook page, you cannot schedule messages on your personal profile.

02 Add page

Your Facebook pages should now be at the top by default. If you want to create a new page, you can do this by clicking on links Institutions to click and for Create new page to choose. Follow the steps and your new page will be added to your pages.

On this settings page you can immediately see how many followers your page has. Click on the name of the page to view the page. You can manage multiple Facebook Pages at the same time with Creator Studio, they will all be displayed here.

03 Post message

Click on the green button at the top left Create new and choose Create message. If you have multiple pages, you must select the correct page. To create a normal message, type your text in the field.

To add a link to your post, simply paste the copied link below the text. A sample photo is retrieved and displayed on the screen. Once it has appeared, you can remove the pasted link again, as it has now been successfully added to the message. To completely remove a link from the message, click on the cross at the top right.

04 Add other things

At the bottom you will find a lot of other options, so you can choose a Photo or Video attach or a Feeling/activity add to your message. For example, click Feels and choose an emotion. You add a location to your message by pressing To check in to click.

If you want to remove an addition, click on one of the colored buttons and a cross will appear after the name of the feeling or location.

05 Add products

If you have a webshop, it is possible to add products to a message. Visitors can click directly on a photo of a product, which can generate more sales.

click on Tag products and choose Upload Files to add photos of products, you can select several at the same time. Click on one of the photos at the bottom and then somewhere on the photo, choose Add product and in the pop-up screen, enter all the information, including a url to the product on your website. click on Add product and then Save.

06 Publishing and scheduling

When your post is completely ready, you can publish it right away or schedule it for later. To post it right away, click To publish. If you want to finish the message later, choose Save as concept. To schedule a message for later, click Plan. Choose a date and time for Facebook to post the message. If you only want a message to be distributed in the news overview for a certain time, then put a tick in front of it Stop distribution in News Feed.

07 Respond

You can also use Creator Studio to reply to private messages on all your Pages. Click on the left Inbox+ and choose the inbox of the page you want to open at the top. Click a conversation on the left and reply to the message in the center field.

Handy is the option Labels at the right. Here you can label a conversation for example New customer give or under Remarks add a note about that person.

08 Instagram transfer

If you want to be able to schedule posts on Instagram, you must first turn your Instagram profile into a creator or business account. Open the Instagram app, tap the profile icon and then the three lines. Do you choose Settings / Account, then you will find the option at the bottom Switch to another account type. Choose a maker account or a business account here, depending on your activities.

Now go to Creator Studio in your browser and click on the Instagram icon at the top. click on add Instagram account and click OK if the website asks you whether the Instagram content can be shared with Facebook.

09 Instagram post

Click on the Instagram icon at the top and choose Create message and then for Instagram overview. Every Instagram post must consist of at least one photo or video, select it by pressing + Add content to click. Select one or more files and you will see them displayed in the gray area. Since Instagram only posts square photos, a photo is automatically cropped.

If you want to post an InstagramTV video, choose Create Post / IGTV. This works almost the same, but here you obviously have to choose a video file.

10 Crop and tag

If you want to choose a selection yourself, click on the crop icon below the photo and move the grid so that everything in the photo is visible. You can also for landscape or vertical but then your photo will appear with a black border in Instagram’s timeline. click on Save if you are satisfied.

You can then tag Instagram users in the photo by clicking the left icon. Pick a spot in the photo and type the person’s Instagram username. Finish by pressing Save to click.

11 Add hashtags

Hashtags are very important on Instagram and you can of course write in the text with your photo. Type a text below Your message, you add a hashtag by # typing followed by the hashtag. Studio for creators already gives you some options as you type.

You can also mention profiles in your message by typing an @ and indicating the name of the profile. rear Add location enter a location. Click on the blue button To publish to post the message immediately.

12 Schedule Message

To schedule a message, click the triangle next to To publish and choose your Schedule. Choose a date and time. Don’t press right away ScheduleYou can also automatically post scheduled Instagram posts to Facebook. For this you put a tick under Posting on Facebook.

Remember that you also click on the triangle behind this To publish click, for Schedule and specify a date and time. Then click at the very bottom Schedule and your Instagram post will be scheduled on both platforms.

13 Edit message

To see all your Instagram posts, go back to the dashboard. You can immediately see how many likes you have received and how many people have responded to messages that have already been posted. Handy to see what kind of content scores better or which times work best for your profile.

Click behind Message status in front of Planned. To change a scheduled message, hover your mouse over it until three dots appear. Click on it and choose To process. Adjust the message if necessary or change the scheduled date and choose Save and schedule.
